Vampire, werewolf, changeling, and hunter all have somewhat "antagonist-focused" second editions, what with the "X Chronicle" format, and I'd predict something like that for Geist, because one of the biggest complaints about first edition was there wasn't really that much motivation to do anything, or any really compelling threats or mysteries or overarching plots. So that's something I'm one hundred percent sure 2e is going to give us. Cthonians being the focus is something else I could definitely see, since they were something about first edition that didn't get much explanation but that people really were interested in. "Cthonians are trying to invade earth and break the boundaries between life and death" is a good, immediate threat that players can engage with, and it fills the same niche as the strix or the Idigam in that it's something you can easily leave out of your chronicle if you want, but it's also easy to use as the centerpiece of one.
I'm hoping we get some nods to Mummy, because it gave us some neat underworld stuff. I know there's a lot of argument over including crossover stuff right in the corebook, but just a few mentions of how well the lines work together would be nice. Mummy introduced sapient ghosts, and I'm hoping Geist picks that up, maybe even giving us some player options in that vein. It would be really neat if there was a ritual to grant full sapience to a ghost, plus some mechanic for sapient ghosts having to constantly hang on to their identities or fade into the two-dimensional flanderized shades most ghosts are.
